20 Theme ideas for your ZOOM classes

Back to Zoom?

It can be fun!

Introduce some themes into your weekly classes...

1. Studio spirit - encourage your students to dress in their studio uniform, bring studio merchandise like drink bottles and bags, and decorate their lounge rooms with your studio logo etc. Extra points for pom poms!

2. Summer holiday - Bring a beach towel, dress in summer clothes or colours, and create a fun playlist of summer vibe tracks.

3. Christmas in July - Be quick for this one...we only have half a month left! Play Christmas music, dress in Christmas colours, wear a Santa hat etc.

4. Celebrity heads - Get your students to dress up as a celebrity and then at the end of class, the teacher can guess who each student was dressed as!

5. Rainbow week - Dress in a bright colour so that together the class makes a rainbow! Nawwwwww #team

6. Footy week - No doubt some of your students are missing going to the footy to see their favourite team play, so why not give them a week to dress in their Footy colours?!

7. Fav dancewear - Who doesn't love ditching the uniform for a day and wearing their favourite dancewear?

8. Costume week - Get students to wear one of their favourite concert or performance costumes! Extra points if the student performs 8 counts from that routine during roll call.

9. 80's week - Leg warmers, 80's music tracks, crimped hair...do you need any more convincing?

10. PJ party - What's more fun than wearing your pj's to dance class? The good news is that you don't even need to get dressed for work that day!

11. Superheroes! - Be creative and get the students to make their own superhero costume. Foil wrist bands, tea towel capes...fun for all!

12. Wiggle week - Perfect for your little ones. Invite your tiny dancers to dress as their favourite Wiggle or Wiggle character. E.M.M.A!

13. Coachella - The older ones will LOVE this. Dress up in your festival best!

14. Background challenge - Challenge your students to set their ZOOM background to a specific colour or place.

15. Carole Baskin - Wear as much big-cat print as you can! OK, you can be more vague and have 'Jungle week' :-)

16. BINGO - Send your students a Bingo sheet to print at the start of the week. Have them mark off 'numbers' during the week until they've completed their card and yell out BINGO! Instead of numbers you could have specific phrases that a teacher might say or certain songs that might be played.

17. Family week - How fun would it be for students to bring their brother or Dad to class?!

18. Halloween - Kids love spooky stuff...let them dress up scary. Just don't get a fright!

19. Broadway - Invite your students to dress up as someone from a musical. Maybe they even need to learn a fun fact about the show to share with the class?!

20. Bring a pet - I bet there are some proud pet owners out there. Why not let your students introduce their pet to the class.

Happy ZOOM-ing!
